It's not often I do this, but I recently came across a blog that was so intriguing, it left me looking through the archives for hours. I wanted her wisdom to be shared. Molly, of Smart Pretty & Awkward, shares tid-bits on the subjects of being smarter, prettier, and less awkward. It's great advice that captured my attention and made me feel more well-rounded just from reading. It reminded me of Prudent Advice and I believe one can never read too many pieces of wisdom.
A few of my favorites:
- How to be (less) Awkward: If a group picture is posted on Facebook, commenting on the attractiveness of just one person in the picture can make the others feel left out. Either compliment the entire group (“what a gorgeous group of ladies!”), or write on the Facebook wall individually of the person you would like to compliment.
- How to be Smarter: Instead of focusing on whether you are first-string or second-string, remember that sometimes its just an honor to be on the team.
- How to be Prettier: Everyone I know that has this brand of flat irons really speaks highly of the product (I’ve been a Chi devotee for years). If you straighten your hair often, it might be worth the investment.
- How to be Smarter: Everything you want in a significant other (ambition, kindness, nice to family) is something you must also expect and cultivate in yourself.
- How to be (less) Awkward: When someone goes away to a place you’ve been, it is fun to compare experience. However before the trip your job is to give helpful advice about the fun you had; after a trip, your job is to listen to the fun they had (not to mention what attractions you think they missed out on).
- How to be Prettier: How you feel you look affects your whole day. Five extra minutes in the morning–just five–spent arranging your hair or whitening your teeth or doing your eye makeup–can change the course of your whole day. Spend the time–the 5 minutes of time–for a whole day’s worth of rewards.
She also throws in quotes that uplift, enlighten, and are down right inspiring. . .

I follow this blog too! It's such a great idea. One of the reasons I like it is because she brings up topics that make me think "oh wow i never thought of that."
